Our chess team of six members played a friendly chess match with students from Mathematical Grammar School in our school library on Wednesday, November 26th 2015.

This friendly chess match served as a great way for students of two school to socialize and to contribute to popularization of chess as a sport.

Our students gave their best and were great competitors, but the opposing team was better. The best player in our school’s team was Leonardo Bavastro.

The third round table was held on December 1st. Our guests were students of Pančevo Grammar school, Fourth Belgrade Grammar school, Fifth Belgrade Grammar school, Sixth Belgrade Grammar school, Twelfth Belgrade Grammar school and Fifteenth Belgrade Grammar school. The topic for this gathering was ‘’I have a right to no right’’. Discussions were about human rights, freedom of choice and legal regulations.

IB students that take ESS classes, visited Deliblato sands on November 3rd. Deliblato sands is located in the south-east part of Pannonian Plain, in the south Banat between Tamiš, Vršac and Danube. It originated during the Ice age from deposits of Eolian carbonate-silicate rocks. Its unique ecosystem is home of over 900 different species of plants. The most common are steppe plants: Banat peony, steppe peony, bulrush, dwarf-steppe almond.

Open class Romanticism held on December 1th 2015 for second grade students, was very much insipring. Maša reminded us of the characteristics of Romanticism and how long this era lasted, after which we discussed Heinrich Heine, George Gordon Byron, Victor Hugo, Alexander Pushkin. We experienced this era in the most interesting ways. We heard Loreley in the original German, Tatiana and Onegin in Russian, Lord Byron in English, Hugo in French.
