A group of III year IBDP went to a workshop at the Day Care Center for children with learning disabilities as a part of their CAS activities. This workshop was a part of a project entitled “Belgrade Loves Classical Music” supported by the Secretariat for Culture of Belgrade. The story of the life and work of the Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich was followed by part from his 8. Quartet performed by the members of “Anima” string quartet.

On Friday, 12th December, we had the opportunity and honour to be hosts to our dear friends from the Belgrade Banking Academy. In a pleasant atmosphere we discussed the current economical situation in our country and the world, we talked about the measures which should be taken to end the global economic crisis, monetary politics, the terms and conditions of studying business, banking, finance at prestigious international universities.

Students of the National and International Programme visited the Science Fair on 4th December. The most interesting exhibits for the students were: The Rubens’ Tube, studio animation, the endless mirror, crime scene (forensics), antioxidants, making face cream, decorative cosmetics, anatomy of the ear, etc. There were so many interesting exhibits but we cannot list them all. We learnt so many new things this year and we are looking forward to the next Science Fair.

The International Day for the Abolition of Slavery was marked by watching a video clip entitled “United Against Slavery” which reminded us of the forms of slavery which exist today. The focus of this day was on eradicating contemporary forms of slavery, such as human trafficking, sexual exploitation, the worst forms of child labour, forced marriage, and the forced recruitment of children for use in armed conflicts.
