On Monday, 26th December, 2016, we gathered Year 2 students at the exemplary class “The other name for love”. It was an interesting and nice story about how other cultures expressed love and how it was named. This time we heard the Latin origin of the word, the linguistic approach to the topic by teacher Milena Pavlović. What is love for the Spanish people was presented by teacher Sanja Platiša.

The examplary class of Goethe’s ballads was prepared by German teacher Goca Đorđević and Serbian teacher Katarina Urošević on 16th December, 2016. They familiarized us with some poems by the great Goethe and characterisitcs of the literary movement sturm und drang. They started with the Prometheus and the parallel with Greek Mythology. Then we watched Schubert’s Erlkӧning and read Goethe’s ballad the Erl-king poem.  Rammstein had the same motife in their song Dalai Lama.

Teachers Vesna Novović and Petar Ogrizović, on Thursday, 15th December, 2016, took our high school students to the Festival of Science at the Belgrade fair. The students had a chance to see technology, natural sciences and social sciences stalls. Students could see what they were interested in and could have found something for their taste. Samsung and applied physics stalls were especially interesting. Our student Milena Milovanović also took part in this year’s festival.

We practiced Gaelic expressions and transcription of French words with the help of teachers Darko Miletić and Katarina Urošević on 15th December, 2016. Adjusting words from a foreign language is not quite easy. Some words were a surprise for all: “mišlen, garnije, lakost”. The French language does sound sophisticated, and all the borrowed words are connected to culture and army. And fashion, of course.

On a cold and nice day, on 14th November, 2016, the Rudjer orienteering team followed the steps of  Ivo Andrić. We started the walk from Andrićev venac and his bust, in front of the flat where he used to live. We learnt the most important facts from the life of this Nobel prize winner.
