Traditional African murals – playful walls

Pupils of III grade visited the Museum of African Art. At the beginning of the “travel” through African culture and art, the museum curator, Marija, presented the five holy animals of this culture. The pupils had the opportunity to recognize the sculptures of these animals, and to express their impressions and feelings about African art and to notice details and symbols of their art. Finally, they saw patterns on the houses of some African natives. After seeing the exhibition, the museum curator organized a workshop where the pupils drew houses and painted murals inspired by what they have previously seen, to the beat of African music. The drawings of our pupils will be exhibited in June and you can all visit the museum during this period and see these works of art.
