The youngest students of our school went to see the play “The cricket and the ant” at the theatre “Puž“. This is the first of the three stories for kids about diligence and laziness. ’’The Cricket and the ant’’ as performed here is different from the story we know. The writer of the play, Branko Milićević – Kockica is actually opposing La Fontaine’s fable as he represents the cricket’s playing as very serious endeavor. This omnibus of plays consists of three stories. The first story takes place in Africa, where the twin brothers Cricky and Anty camp out in nature. The second story takes place on grandfather’s farm. The humorous story about the hen which lays golden eggs leaves the idler with golden hands. The third story takes place in the middle of winter. Cricky and his wife visit the ant and ask for tea and crumbs.
