On Monday, 8^th December, pupils of I grade with their teacher Julijana Merdović visited the school library. The school librarian told the pupils about the first writing materials, the way of getting paper and the process of creating books. Then through discussion the pupils came to some very important conclusions about why it is important to read books: books do not “serve” a complete image as television does; the brain is active when we read, we develop curiosity (we anticipate what will happen next), we acquire models, etc. The pupils were informed about the library collection and each pupil borrowed a book based on his/her age group. We agreed to meet again and check our reading list.
