EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES

EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES

Every September we celebrate the European Day of Languages.

The European Day of Languages is a yearly event held on 26th September.  Held for the first time in 2001 the Day of Languages has been celebrated every year since then. This year we celebrated it a bit earlier, on 21st September, because of the excursions.

The ceremony began with the speech on the importance of languages in general and their importance for communication in the present day. It was highlighted that by marking this day we aim to promote the rich linguistic diversity of Europe and raise awareness of the importance of lifelong language learning for everyone.

After the speech, the certificates were awarded to the students who took CELA, CILS, DELE, DELF and ÖSD exams last year. A great number of our students worked hard and prepared to take these exams. We congratulate them and their teachers on the exceptional results.

The showing of the short film followed. The film was made by our students and its main aim was to encourage people of all ages to learn new languages.

The celebration ended with the “Master Blaster” concert.
