On 18^th December students of first, second and third grade prepared and presented a lecture on Wedding traditions in our country and abroad. We learned that it is a bad omen if a bride trips on a threshold (so the groom has to carry he over the threshold), what new and what old should a bride wear on her wedding day and which colour symbolizes what. We also learned that kidnapping of a bride has been a common custom in Italy since the Romans, because it symbolizes the crucial moment in the life of a man or woman and their transition into adulthood. And in the end we were reminded of the importance of devotional glass in the folk poem Dioba Jakšića. This is what you need to understand Serbian customs at a wedding.
