STUDENT EXCHANGE

STUDENT EXCHANGE

Our friends from Italy in the student exchange programme came to visit us last Monday.  We greeted them at the Nikola Tesla Airport. It was nice seeing them again!

We took them to school immediately. They liked our beautiful school full of greenery right away. Year 3 students sang them original, traditional songs and then we watched the performance of KUD and were thrilled!

There followed the practical use of the things learnt so we all danced “kolo” in the school yard. In the evening we went out and saw the downtown area.

The next morning we went to school and had a workshop with the volunteers from Interculture. The philosophy teacher talked about Serbia and then we went to lunch.

In the afternoon we visited the museum of Nikola Tesla, the exhibition of Mihajlo Pupin and the Church of Saint Sava.

On Wednesday, we went on a trip. We visited the Viminacium and the beautiful cave Ceremošnja were it was very exciting. We were thrilled by a traditional lunch outdoors.

On the fourth day we had five classes in English which are a part of our IGCSE programme (the world literature, history, economics, English) and after lunch we went to a sports afternoon to Ada Ciganlija, where we really enjoyed. We rode the bicycles, took walks, sunbathed, all in all – it was wonderful.

On Friday, we visited the Kalemegdan fortress and we were at the Zoo. Afterwards we were hungry, so we went to eat our famous ćevapčići. In the evening we had a yacht party, dancing and cruising the river, it was wonderful. We could see the fortress again from the river.

The last day was very sad as they had to go home and we saw them off to the airport. We said goodbye with the promise to see each other again this summer.

This was a wonderful week with great kids from Italy and a memorable experience!
