Ruđer second student exchange this year happened from 20-26 February 2017. Our kind hosts greeted us cordially at the airport. Our days were planned and filled with activities. Each break was filled in with delicious cookies. “Tea time” became a ritual. Students of our host school organized the welcoming concert. Making of the national dolls was an interesting workshop. We all participated in the volleyball match. The competition in ideal pairs meant that the pair had to be international. Through dancing, play and music we felt as if we had known one another for a long time.
We liked Moscow very much. We had a very warm welcome at the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia. The atmosphere was relaxed. Our guests asked our Ambassador Mr Slavenko Terzić many questions about Serbia. After this visit, we took a walk around Moscow.
We walked around the Red Square and the Kremlin. The Red Square looked more beautiful than in pictures. The entire square was decorated with lights and fir trees. There was a huge ice rink in the middle of the Square, with the sounds of children having fun. It was very interesting to stand upon the initial meridian behind the Red Square. Legend says that a person who stands there and throws a coin behind and makes a wish, the wish will be granted. And some other legends say that you will come back to Moscow. After a tiring sightseeing, we went to the Circus and were amazed.
The next morning we visited their church where we exchanged the icons and were served with milk and warm bread. We took a photo together and went to have fun at the children’s centre were we played many games and had many competitions. Again, we had pancakes for lunch. Some students competed in eating pancakes and the winner was Milan Mrdeljić. (11)
The farewell was emotional for us all. We arrived at the airport and could hardly say goodbye to our hosts. The trip back to Belgrade was pleasant. We exchanged our impressions and made plans how to surprise our guests in Serbia.
