THE ROUND TABLE
On Tuesday, 6th December, 2016, there was a Round table with Belgrade high school students with the topic “Science and dogmatism” in “Ruđer Bošković” High School. This year’s round table dealt with the following questions: What is dogmatism and is it connected only to the non-scientific areas of humans spirit? What is dogmatic sleep? Can people speak about dogmatism in science? Where does the knowledge stop, and faith begins? Are the scientific theories true or truth-like? What are scientific facts and do they depend on scientific hypothesis? Are there cases in psychology and psychotherapy in which more various psychological streams give equally good results? What is the role of apophatic theology in the dialogue between religion and science? What can we say about all the mentioned from the viewpoint of philosophy of science?
The introductory lecture was held by dr Milan Ćirković. The workshop moderators were Stevan Jovanović, Tara Bulut and Nena Šurlan, teachers of “Ruđer Bošković” High School and the guests were students and teachers of V, VI, VII, XIV High Schools and High School “Patrijarh Pavle“.
