From Gaelic to contemporary French, a short epic about the development of Moliere language and many social and cultural influences was the theme of the class where the knowledge of TOK was supported by examples of linguistic peculiarities of the French people. During this class, we could hear why Germanic warriors conquered the language of those they conquered, which writers had the task to “discipline” the French language, why certain social groups invented their own language, who followed, and who mocked. Nevertheless, one class was not enough to introduce all the interesting things about this language and its, above all, an unusual way to describe reality.
