THE FACULTY OF GEOGRAPHY

Students of class IV2 visited the laboratory of the Faculty of Geography as part of the preparation for the exam `Environmental Systems and Societies`. Students did a research on the characteristics of abiotic components of the environment. Every ecosystem consists of biotic and abiotic components. Biotic components are living organisms while abiotic are non-living parts of the environment that affect living organisms (temperature, sunlight, water, pH, ground…). In order to notice the weaknesses of an ecosystem it is necessary to measure regularly biodiversity as well as abiotic factors. This time the students looked into biodiversity of Deliblato Sands, they analyzed the type of soil in the sands and the characteristics of the water in the river Tamiš. We are waiting for the results of this research.
