At 44th FEST film festival, on 1st March, 2016, we saw the film Queen of the Desert. The film stars a famous Nicole Kidman. She plays the role of Gertrude Bell, a woman who was an archaeologist, an explorer, a spy and a politician. The plot reveals her search for true love. She had two men in her life, but unfortunately they both died. She travelled around Arabia to understand the life of Bedouins and their tribes and she earned a great respect among Arabic Sheiks for her character, actually her determination to achieve what she wanted. Later she became political attaché for Arabia and she stayed in the hearts Bedouins as the lady of the desert who truly understood them. She said that she could love Bedouins in her own way that no one from the Western world could understand. The film describes her travel through the deserts and her desire to discover the unknown world and life of Bedouins. Alongside Nicole Kidman, the film stars Robert Pattison, James Franco and Damian Lewis.
The film was nominated for Golden Bear at Berlin International Film Festival.
All the students liked the film in their own ways and they enjoyed watching it.
