THE BELGRADE DRAMA THEATRE "WHEN PUMPKINS BLOSSOMED"

We visited the Belgrade Drama Theatre on 12th March 2015 and we had the opportunity to see the play “When Pumpkins Blossomed” directed by Boban Skerlić. The play is based on the novel of the same name written by Dragoslav Mihailović. We had just finished reading the book so we were able to compare the two. Some of us were disappointed, while others weren’t. The match was evident. Miloš Biković represents a rowdy from Dušanovac (part of Belgrade) and a boxer, Ljuba Vrapčeta, while Miša Janketić played the role of Ljuba at an older age and the narrator. Marko Živić played the role of Stole Apaš. Although it was rather long the play was impressive and it revived a story from Dušanovac.
