VISITING LECTURER: PROFESSOR DR MAHMUD SALUI

On Wednesday, 24th November 2014 professor Dr Mahmud Salui, director of the Iranian Cultural Centre in Belgrade, visited our school. Dr Salui delivered a lecture about the influence of the philosophies of Plato and Aristotle on the philosophy of medieval Iran. Dr Salui made a clear connection between the philosophies of the two biggest ancient philosophers and the philosophies of al-Farabi and Avicenna. By showing us with the way in which these two philosophers accepted, adapted and further upgraded the teachings of Plato and Aristotle, Dr Salui proves that the ideas of Philosophy are universal and that they do not respect the boundaries of time and space.
